Draft: these terms will be finalized after legal review before launch. If they differ from the Korean version, the Korean version prevails.
TERMS OF USETerms of Use
Effective date: November 1, 2026
1. Purpose
These Terms set out the conditions for using the Coffee Society website (the “Site”) operated by Society Co., Ltd. (주식회사 소사이어티, “we”), and the rights and responsibilities of you and us.
2. Our service
We provide the following through the Site free of charge. Fees for in-person meetups, if any, are shown in the meetup details.
- Information on, and sign-ups for, weekly international meetups and special events in Daejeon
- Member stories (STORY)
- General information on visas and paperwork, jobs and starting a business
- Receiving and answering inquiries
3. Accounts
- You join by signing in with a Google account; there is no separate username or password.
- You are responsible for keeping your Google account secure and must not use someone else’s account.
- Children under 14 may not join.
- You can delete your account at any time by emailing hello@coffeesociety.kr. We handle your data as described in our Privacy Policy.
4. Meetup sign-ups and cancellations
- Spots are confirmed first come, first served up to capacity. Once a meetup is full or closed, you can no longer sign up.
- If you can’t make it, please cancel on the “My sign-ups” page so someone else can take your spot, ideally by the day before.
- Repeated no-shows without notice may limit future sign-ups.
- We may change or cancel a meetup’s date, topic or venue when necessary, and will let you know in advance by email or other means.
- Please treat everyone with respect. Discrimination, harassment, sales or religious solicitation, or pressuring others to drink may lead to being asked not to attend.
5. Your content and portrait rights
- You keep the copyright in the stories, photos and videos you share with us or provide in interviews.
- You grant us a free license to post and edit that content (for length, subtitles, translation and so on) on the Site and our official social media.
- Photos and videos taken at meetups may be used to promote the Site and our social media; we post photos where your face is recognizable only with your consent. If you’d rather not be photographed, just tell our team on the night.
- You can ask us to take down any content or photo at any time, and we will remove it without delay.
6. Information is not professional advice
The visa and paperwork, job and startup pages provide general information only and are not legal, tax or immigration advice. Rules and procedures change often, so always check with the immigration office, HiKorea (hikorea.go.kr), the relevant authority or a qualified professional before you apply. Job listings reproduce information published by employers; applications and contracts are between you and the employer.
7. Your responsibilities
- Do not submit other people’s personal information without permission, or false information.
- Do not use the Site in abnormal ways or interfere with its operation.
- Do not share or post content that infringes the rights of other users or third parties.
8. Limitation of liability
- We are not liable for failing to provide the service due to causes beyond our control, such as natural disasters or network outages.
- We are not liable for outcomes arising from your use of the general information on the Site.
- Unless we act intentionally or with gross negligence, we are not liable for disputes between participants or for lost or damaged personal belongings at meetups.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may change these Terms within the limits of applicable law and will announce changes on the Site at least 7 days before they take effect.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Any dispute relating to the service will be resolved by the court with jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.
Effective date
These Terms take effect on November 1, 2026. Questions: hello@coffeesociety.kr
